Recommended Uses

– In the Kitchen
To clean fruit and vegetables.
Add 1 tablespoon (25g) of Solvay Bicarbonate per liter of water and soak the fruit and vegetables. Alternatively, rub them with a paste made of water and Solvay Bicarbonate. Rinse under running water.
Solvay Bicarbonate does not have a disinfectant effect.

To promote leavening.
Add 1 tablespoon (5g) of Solvay Bicarbonate to cake and pie dough, or dissolve it in milk for every pound of flour. Solvay Bicarbonate aids the leavening process, but is not a substitute for yeast.

To eliminate odors in the refrigerator and freezer.
Place an open container with about 1/2 cup (150g) of Solvay Bicarbonate in the refrigerator and/or freezer. Replace the product every three months.

To deodorize and sanitize your dishwasher.
Sprinkle a handful of Solvay Bicarbonate on dishes or the bottom of your dishwasher to eliminate unpleasant odors that form between washes. 1/2 cup (150g) of Solvay Bicarbonate once a month, added during the empty rinse cycle, keeps your appliance running efficiently.

– In the washing machine
To boost liquid detergent.
Add 1 tablespoon (25g) of Solvay Bicarbonate to the detergent dispenser during the wash and/or pre-wash cycles. This will increase the cleaning effectiveness of your liquid detergent.

To remove unpleasant odors.
Add 1 tablespoon (25g) of Solvay Bicarbonate during the rinse cycle. Ideal for neutralizing persistent and difficult-to-remove odors.

Solvay Bicarbonate counteracts limescale buildup.
Do not use on wool or silk.

– At home
To deodorize and brighten the colors of carpets and rugs.
Sprinkle Solvay Bicarbonate evenly over the surface to be cleaned. Let it sit for up to 24 hours, then vacuum or sweep.

To deodorize the cat litter box
Sprinkle a layer of Solvay Bicarbonate on the bottom of the litter box before pouring in the litter. This neutralizes odor-causing substances.

To eliminate any source of bad odors.
Place a handful of Solvay Bicarbonate in the vacuum cleaner bag.
A bowl in the shoe rack or closet. Regularly sprinkle a handful on the trash can.

– Personal hygiene
Relaxing and soothing bath and foot bath.
Dissolve 1/2 cup (150g) of Solvay Bicarbonate in warm bath water. Dissolve 2 tablespoons (50g) in warm foot bath water.

Soft, clean hair.
Dissolve 1 teaspoon (5g) of Solvay Bicarbonate of Soda in your regular shampoo once a week. Massage and rinse thoroughly before applying conditioner.
